The difference in their production processes results in varying levels of biodegradability. The EPI-based bags are deemed 38% biodegradable by the USDA. They closely resemble plastic and are notably stronger. However, rest assured, when these EPI-based bags are buried in the soil, they decompose aerobically within a year’s time. If you’re curious, we encourage you to conduct a simple experiment and observe these dog poop bags disintegrate over time.
In our store, we also carry corn-based dog poop bags, which are classified as 100% biodegradable by the USDA. Feel free to choose the type that best meets your needs.
